🌿 A Healing Story I Am Grateful to Share

With Thanksgiving approaching, and as I continue moving through my own healing journey, I felt called to share a beautiful healing story from one of my clients. This season often invites us to slow down, reflect, and acknowledge the moments that have touched our hearts in deep and unexpected ways. This is one of those moments for me.

Before I share that story, I want to take a moment to talk about energy healing and how it can meet people wherever they are on their path.

Energy healing focuses on restoring balance to the body, mind, and spirit, and what is so wonderful about it is that each person’s experience is personal and meaningful. You may have heard of Reiki, which is one form of energy healing, but there are many other approaches as well. In my own work I draw on a combination of techniques I have studied and practiced over the years, blending them into a style that feels uniquely my own.

For some people energy healing may bring a sense of calm and release from stress. For others the shifts can be more noticeable and even surprising. It can be experienced on its own or in collaboration with medical care, medications, or holistic practices. However it unfolds, energy healing works with the body’s natural ability to restore and renew itself, opening the way for change on many levels.

One of my clients, Jerry, experienced this in a remarkable way, and with his permission I am grateful to share his story. He had been receiving routine injections in his eyes as part of ongoing medical care. These appointments had become a normal part of his life.

During our energy healing session, I was guided to work on several areas that were affecting him, including his diabetes, his solar and heart chakras, and some energetic pressure behind the eyes. The session was calm and focused, with a strong sense of light and release. Jerry said he felt much better afterward and continued noticing improvement in the days that followed.

A few weeks later, he went in for his next eye doctor appointment, expecting to receive the injections he had been getting regularly. The doctor ran the scan, and something had changed. The holes that had been visible in his retina were gone. The doctor looked at him and said he did not need the injection that day, and he has not needed one since. Can you imagine the relief and joy he must have felt? Moments like these remind us of the mysterious and powerful ways healing can show up in our lives.

Jerry kindly gave permission for me to share his before and after scans, and they truly speak for themselves.

It’s not to say he will never need another injection again. He may, but maybe less often than before, or maybe there will be stretches where he does not need them at all. Every healing journey unfolds in its own way. I will continue to include gentle support for his eyes during any future energy healing sessions if ever needed, in a way that respects and complements his medical care.

I believe in this work so deeply because I am living my own healing story too. I am navigating life with a rare cancer called neuroendocrine cancer, and my journey has been described by both my oncologist and surgeon as uniquely my own. The progress I have made is far beyond what is normally seen with this cancer. The treatment I am on is not designed to create the kind of results my scans have shown, yet my doctors continue to be pleasantly surprised.

My surgeon has even told me that the original tumor he removed from my small intestine years ago was unlike anything he had ever seen before, and that my most recent surgery was just as unusual in its own way. I had two lymph nodes removed near my pancreas, and the path that led to their discovery still amazes me. During one of my MRI scans I accidentally breathed in at a moment when I was supposed to hold my breath. That small moment caused the image to blur, which led my medical team to order a very specific scan called a Netspot scan, designed for this type of cancer.

That scan revealed that one of the lymph nodes had grown since my previous Netspot scan in 2022. Because of that early detection they were able to remove that lymph node, along with a second smaller one nearby. I am grateful every day that something as simple as an imperfect breath led to answers that might have otherwise gone unnoticed.

Now, because those lymph nodes were removed, I can stay on the current treatment plan that has been working so well for me. And I will keep receiving my own energy healing sessions, because even I needed my mentor’s gentle reminder that this work keeps me centered, balanced, and supported, and that it helps my body as it heals.

Jerry’s story and my own remind me that healing comes in many forms. Sometimes it shows up quietly, and sometimes in ways that even doctors are surprised to see. However it unfolds, it carries us forward and gives us the courage to keep going. As fall settles in, it brings its own invitation to celebrate life, release what no longer serves us, and welcome balance and renewal. This season feels like a gentle reminder to give ourselves space to seek healing, clarity, and balance in whatever way feels right.
